Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X were two freedom fighters who shared the same goal, which was freedom, justice and equality, but differed in their methods. Relief sculpture appeared in many different cultures all throughout time. Relief sculpture can be created and found in many different forms and each culture’s relief consists of distinctive factors. Relief sculpture is different from a more well-known form, known as freestanding sculptures, because relief sculptures remain part of the background, however, they do project from it. Just like freestanding sculptures, relief can be made from carving or casting from many different types of material, such as; wood, ivory, bronze and stone. The vase was found in the Inanna temple, located in Uruk, Iraq, which is modern day Warka. It is dated 3200-3000 BCE and c urrently resides in the National Museum of Iraq. The attributes of the vase include a narrow base, that supports the tall, beige structure. The vase is large, being over 3 feet tall and is made from the mineral Alabaster. The vase is in low relief because the subject projects slightly from its background. The subject of this relief is a religious festival that was held to honor the goddess of Uruk, Inanna. The vase is divided into three main registers that separate the different stories that are depicted in the narrative relief. At the top is the largest band that inhabits a woman in a headdress, some historians think it is Inanna, however others believe it to be a priestess. Next to the woman, on the left, is a naked man that is depositing offerings in the goddess’s shrine. To the right of the woman a clothed male figure is shown, which art historians believe to be the priest-king. These characters shown together symbolize the importance of their role to the Mesopotamian soc iety and appear to represent marriage occurring between the two of them. We were all nervous because it was the first time any of us have flown. We finally got a chance to start boarding, after we arrived at the airport five hours early. Before boarding, we had to show the airport attendants our birth certificate. When I went to show them my birth certificate, they wouldnt let me board because mine was a copy and not the original. Luckily, after waiting for twenty minutes, they made a few calls and let me go. As we flew over the ocean the water was crystal clear and the sky was beautiful. I couldnt wait to get there, but after two and a half hours, we finally arrived in Nassau, Bahamas. We got off the plane and the weather was beautiful, it was 90 degrees and sunny. We walked in, got our luggage and had to go through customs. We went outside caught our bus and off we went to our resort. When arrived there everyone was very nice and respectful. Our first day their we planned to take a boat over to the Atlantis resort on Paradise, Island. The Atlantis is a resort known to have movie stars and athletes stay. I was only twenty years old when we went there, so I have never been to a casino. We all got to gamble, and I won $300 playing blackjack, it was a blast. The resort also had an underground aquarium with sharks and lots of other odd looking fish. The next few days we sat around the resort and went paralleling, and lots of other activities. Paralleling was an adrenaline rush and probably one of the funnier things I had done In my life. We also went downtown Nassau and that Is where they have a big flea market. The flea market had a lot of neat and different things down there. We spent the whole day downtown and later that night went out to a few dance clubs. Proteins consist of macromolecules called polypeptides, made from monomers called amino acids. Proteins have hundreds, thousands, or sometimes even millions of these amino acids. These amino acids are made up of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and sometimes sulfur. Some proteins consist of only single polypeptides. In most cases it involves two or more combined polypeptides, sometimes with other small organic molecules or metal ions. The most basic level of protein structure, called the primary structure, is the linear sequence of amino acids. To do so they often practiced automatic drawing in order to conjure these images out of the deeper states of consciousness by overriding the processes of the ego and the senses. In this manner, the surrealists based their art on an early form of Western depth psychology. The dream surrealists shared Freud’s infatuation with the symbolism of dreams and dream interpretation. and sought to express the imagery of dreams in their artwork. Yet, unlike the automatists, the dream surrealists did not seek to overcome the traditional use of the ego in painting, but rather to use the ego to express the language of dreams, a subtle difference that can be seen through comparing Masson’s work to one of Salvador Dali’s first dream surrealist paintings, â€Å"Inaugural Goose Flesh† (1928) . In 1924, Salvador Dali’s artwork was still very much exhibiting the influences of Cubism and of the Greek-Italian surrealist Giorgio de Chirico. Dali’s â€Å"Still Life† (1924) and â€Å"Port Alguer† (1924) both show the influence of Picasso and early Cubism, as well as Dali’s early experimentation with different styles such as Impressionism, reflected in the waters of the sea in contrast to the cubist architecture. (ArtMight, 2011) Yet, in â€Å"Still Life† (1924), the â€Å"metaphysical plane† introduced by de Chirico is beginning to be shown in his painting, fully evident four years later when Dali paints, â€Å"Inaugural Goose Flesh† (1928). This â€Å"metaphysical plane† is different than the traditional perspective of portrait, still life, or natural painting. What it does is replace the horizon and relation between earth and sky which dominates representational painting with an infinite horizon upon which anythi ng can arise, representing the plane of mind and the world of dreams.
